As I said, I’m back-la! Starting my chika in

Pak!

We asked for a week leave since we originally planned to go to Spain (Ibiza sana) but, due to unforseeable ganaps, wit na siya na-i-push. So, instead of putting those days into waste, mega plan nalang ng roadtrip around England! Perfect timing nga kase we just got our Baby Kadjot a couple of months ago so perfect na mabinyagan siya sa long drive. We also devised a very specific tipid meal plan for the whole trip which consisted of adobo (day 1) adobo  (day 2), and more adobo (day 3) for more chances of winning!

So, the route was, Warner Bros. Studios – overnight @ Cheltenham – Cotswolds the next half day – Bath (overnight) – Stonehenge – Home! I will make chika the rest of the places we went to but for now, let’s start with everyone’s favorite – H E R R Y P A H T A H R!

The tickets mga ateh, costs £35 each for adults (kung kuripot ka, medyo mahalia fuentes siya) and take note, you should book it in advance cause super benta siya to everyone and usually, they have a quota so everyone can enjoy the studio na walang natetegi sa stampede. Charot.

Actually since we first got here sa UK, matagal ko nang plan to go here, but everytime na I try check their site, fully booked na yung dates na bet ko. So yes, inabot ng two years and 8 months bago ko talaga siya na-avail ng bonggang bongga! Sulit naman ang wait mga teh. Super enjoy! Ang lakas maka fresh yung ganitong aura! Felt like a child again (naks!). It’s also amazing na di lang siya for kiddos. Take note, madami din yung tita and titos na super enjoy. And, from different parts of the world pa! Pang UN levels ang delegation.

At the queue, may mga pa-quotes naman si Auntie.

After the queue, they lead you into this room na may mga pa-film viewing churna churna bells. Then, ang paepek ng mga lola mo, biglang shosho-as ang screenabels and charaaaan! The giant door! Medyo nadisappoint lang ako kasi they ask from the crowd whoever’s celebrating their birthday para sila yung magoopen ng door. Magtataas sana ako ng kamay kaso baka hanapan ako ng birth certificate or proof of purchase, so give ko na saknila yun. Sayang, nagpula pa naman ako.

So the door leads you in here! Ahhhh!!!

These were the actual set, props and costumes na ginamit nila sa movie. Haaaay ang sarap maging bata ulet!

The studio was divided into different sections. After this first section, super naenjoy namin yung green screen section where you ride the broomstick and and umacting acting lang! Hahaha! Kebs na sa mga taong nanonood sayo, basta importante performance level!

Honestly, getting a copy of the video was a bit pricey (£25 each! Kaloka!) but since we had a great time, pikit mata nalang namin binili kasi sayang naman ang winning performance if we just let it go. With the amount you paid naman, you get an option if you want it in dvd or usb and since mas may potential na magmukang souvenir item si usb, siya nalang kinuha namen.

Nest section: Train Station! Plus the famous Platform 3/4!

Musn’t miss: BUTTERBER!!!!!

Third section!

Loool! Pak na pak! He was actually gonna sit there tapos biglang sinita kame ni ate girl!

Opo ate. Di na nga lang!

Naging photo dump na! Self explanatory na ang caption and here’s the next section!

And for the finale…

In a span of 4-5 hours, we had so much fun! Sulit!

PS. Here’s a compilation of my super excited ako snaps for that day. enjoy!

flashback friday: Travel Fail

We’ve kept this a secret for almost a year now (we were quite embarassed of our kashongaan), but I think it’s about time I share one of our major “Fail” in one of our travels.

It was my birthday trip to Italy right? We booked a cab going to Stansted Airport since it was an early flight and we didn’t wanna hassle ourselves with rush hour, train transfers and luggage. Arriving there I reckon almost 2 hours early, we got swayed by the displays and being the “tech-loving” people that we are, we spent most of our spare time at Curry’s where they had a massive sale. To cut the story short, we ended up buying a GoPro Hero 4 thinking it would be a good addition to our trip (even though I had my massive DSLR with me) and we could use it for our videos and later on in life. Hahaha. After the kaching kaching from the cashier, like two toodlers, we were excited to open our new shiny goody. We still had time we said, so yeah, we did the unboxing right there in the waiting room. We didn’t even bother to check which gate we’ll be in until…..

We snapped back to reality and checked the time. Holy F!!! It was just 5 minutes to our flight!!! We rushed to our gate which was a shuttle away from where we were. Had a marathon and yes, I would have loved this to end like the movies where we were able to catch the plane but nope, this is real life so yes my folks, we missed the flight. We missed the freakin’ flight!!! Gelo was obviously upset, I heard a lot of tsks and grunts and “dapat kasi di na natin binuksan eh” and “para kasing mga bata, masyadong naexcite eh” but what can we do? Having the talent of remaining cool on these kind of situations, I just kept laughing and smiling. I honestly found it funny. We evetually had to go back to the counter and of course, buy new tickets. My only worry was not getting a flight the same day but luckily, there was just 2 hours wait to the next one. Also, I had to close my eyes to 200 extra quid we had to pay for getting another flight. Haaaaaay! Breathe in, then out.

So yeah, major fail. While waiting for the new flight, we didn’t even touch the camera anymore. And yes we kept on checking the time and gate. And yes, after some cool down, Gelo was already laughing about it. It was a nice and expensive experience though, and never again were we late for our flights. Also, never again would we get distracted by these toys/gadgets.

Here’s our first picture with our GoPro named: Stansted. We made sure we used it again till boarding time. Majirap na!

Isang malaking CZECH!

Dati, naririnig ko lang to sa mga baklaan namin. Pag agree sa mga jobi (sabe) ng mga ate, sabay-sabay sisigaw ng Czech Republic!!!! Whooo!

Kidding aside (naaaks, may pa-aside), never kong naimagine na mararating ko ang magical bekimese word na ito pero since andito narin naman ako, grab the opportunity na ito teh, bago pa mag expire ang Schengen visa.

Hello, Prague! Medyo na-hopya ako ng Autumn in Prague pero di ko nareceive yung memo na napa-aga pala ang dating ng winter sonata so di ko na na-sight yung mga paandar ng scattered leaves. The place was lovely anyway. :)_DSC1587

We landed around noon so may time pa to scrung lala around before we checked in. From the airport, the only mode of transpo going to the city centre is either mag taxi which is Mahalya Fuentes (expensive) or take the bus which is very cheapangga. Chu-chu train parin ang main mode of transpo and unlike before, di na kami nag-getsung ng mga 2 or 3 day pass since we were informed na magkakalapit lang ang mga ganap so no need to buy.

The thing about arriving there early is the Bagelyas. Most of the trips we’ve had mega arrive kami dun ng early thinking sayang ang time so ayun, pagdating sa area, ikot around with the trolley while waiting for the usual 1400H check-in which is a bit of a hassle at majingay ang gulong sa daan. Travel lite pa kame sa lagay na yan (All travels, 1 small trolley and 1small bag lang and the most days we’ve fitted in there was 11 days, pak, ganern!)

We stayed at Residence Bologna, which is very very near the city centre. The hotel is not as modern as most would prefer pero kebs na since winner ang location and the price. We also were a bit spoilt since they gave us a room which should be for 4-6 people + balcony so pak na pak talaga. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a photo of it, pero promise totoo lahat ng sinabi ko kahit wala akong ebidensya.

After we’ve settled in, and had a bit of rest, we tried to look for some lafangga areas. In our past trips, we usually use Google and TripAdvisor for food recommendations- then we discovered Yelp (free app!) which is much to our liking since it is easier to use and gives clearer and better reviews and directions to the area you want to get to.

Thanks to Yelp, we found this resto called Prazky most u Valsu which is just 3-5mins walk from the hotel.

We ordered some soup (since it was just a degree + snowing) and one specialty of theirs which was called Pork Knuckle. Naloka kame day, we just literally imagined a knuckle but when they served it, nako buong pata pala! Unfortunately, they don’t serve any rice (sayaaaang!) nevertheless, food coma it is! They also gave us varieties of their breads and with the amount of food they serve, we had enough left for a takeaway. And the catch- it’s cheap! We just spent 20 quid for everything! From then on, confirmed! Totoo pala ang chika na mura lang dito sa Praha!

It was already twilight when we finished so we took this time to discover the city. There were actually fewer tourists than we expected (post Paris attack) which we took to our advantage since it wasn’t as crowded as usual.

Post 2-3 hours straight of walkathon, photoshoot and nginigan festival (di ba nga isang centigrado lang yung temperatura) we needed to fill up our tanks and thanks again to yelp, we found Rugantino.

It’s a more modern resto compared to the Celtic-ish one we went to earlier but it didn’t disappoint! Food was good, very tasty and the ambiance was really nice. I do apologize, na loss nanaman ang lola niyo and I forgot to take more pictures. For our order of 16oz. stake, sea food risotto (I again, forgot the name), foie gras, drinks and for this posh ambiance, total bill was only £30!!! Mura, tehhhhhh!

On our third day, um-aura lang ulit at the city centre then gora sa Train station en-route to Austria!

Here’s a pa-video kuno of my lamyerda. Sorry, back to being a rusty editor- nangalawang na ang skills! Nevertheless, enjoy!
